Elena Montagna is a research fellow who teaches English in both the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Law, University of Pavia. She publishes mainly in the following fields: studies of economics and law texts, women’s studies, translation studies in relation to the demands of an ESP syllabus.
She has organised many seminars and congresses in the University of Pavia: The International Symposium entitled “The Power of Poetry: Sound and meaning of the written word” in 2000; the “Calendimaggio” Poetry Manifestation in 2001; the Roberto Sanesi e l’arte del tradurre International Symposium in 2002; The Le varianti del traduttore International Symposium in 2003, the Creazione di valore, Corporate Governance e informativa societaria Conference in 2005; the How to stimulate students in learning Business English, 2005.
Recent publications: She has edited Women in/and Politics , Serie Working Papers, Dip. di Lingue – Sezione di Lingue Straniere della Facoltà di Economia in 2002; Le varianti del traduttore, conference proceedings she co-edited with Tomaso Kemeny in 2003; Stocks or shares? Creditors or accounts payable? Overheads or overhead? to be published in Le Lingue e l’Economia in 2005. Her publications include: Due Pianeti, due lingue: Marte e Venere a confronto.
